Dr. Scott Glenn is a pioneer in ocean observing systems, with a research career spanning over 30 years. He specializes in the development and deployment of autonomous ocean technologies to study extreme events such as hurricanes and typhoons. Glenn has worked with Shell, the U.S. Navy, and NOAA, and today leads ocean forecasting efforts at Rutgers University. He is a founding principal investigator of MARACOOS and a current board member. He is also part of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) co-design program and co-leads the tropical cyclone exemplar.
